We’re looking for a liaison officer to join our team and play an important role in the project.
This is a six month contract for a full time position for 37 hours per week, based in Whitehaven, Cumbria, with a salary of £20,000 pro rata.
Irish Sea Conservation Zones is a project to help secure a healthy and prosperous future for the Irish Sea by recommending areas of it for environmental protection. Our role is help the people who use, work on or enjoy the Irish Sea to make these recommendations to the government.
Working with the two existing Liaison Officers, the third liaison officer will be instrumental in building links gathering mapping and questionnaire data and ensuring a good continued awareness of the project with stakeholders.
The post holder will be responsible for covering northern Lancashire and Cumbria with a possible further role to coordinate data collection in other areas such as Scotland.
Liaison officers currently cover Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and Wales.
The post holder will operate out of the office based in Whitehaven; however they will be required to attend meetings and work out of the Warrington office on at least a monthly basis and throughout the region as required. The main purpose of the job is to:
· Collect stakeholder activity data through participatory mapping exercises and questionnaires that show maritime activities and knowledge with marine and other stakeholders.
· Ensure a good continued awareness of the project goals within the marine stakeholder community in mainly Cumbria, through informal and formal meetings.
